Normally, promo footage is relatively boring and features loads of panning, swooping shots of the car driving along a postcard-perfect strip of ocean road to the graceful background of The Sound of Music. Mercedes-Benz has done it a bit differently with the upcoming 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG.
This promotional footage, just released into cyberspace, features a more raw and realistic approach to demonstrating the car’s character, while still showcasing plenty of the car’s new body design. And it’s mostly footage of the car being driven on a race track, no less.That means we get a snippet of the awesome new 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 under the hood, which creates 410kW of power in full AMG Performance Package trim (386kW for standard AMG).
This new engine is quite remarkable as it comes with a fuel consumption rating of 9.9L/100km – not bad for a large sedan, excellent for a stonking twin-turbo V8.
